While CIOs have long acknowledged the importance of employee well-being, the COVID-19 outbreak hammered home just how critical it is. Protecting the teams' mental health and reducing their stress became vital to operations, and organisations were forced to prioritise their physical and emotional well-being as a matter of survival. At Radixweb work and life, as well as health, safety, and well-being, have become inextricably linked.
Recognizing the inextricable relationship between our well-being, our job, and our lives has prompted more companies to consider how they may incorporate well-being into work so that both employees and the company can prosper in the future. Presenting the Radix Fit-n-Fine Club where we speak with fitness enthusiasts across the company, and talk about how they achieve the Golden ratio of mental and physical well-being while maintaining optimum productivity and efficiency levels.
Today our Radixian Fitchamp from the Fit-n-fine club is Digital Marketing Strategist, Yashaswin Adhwaryu, who we know, is heavily inclined towards holistic wellbeing. Read on as we talk to him about what he understands by staying fit.
Staying fit doesn’t only mean bursting out yourself in physical activities. To reach the epitome of fitness, you need to train your body & mind through physical and mental activities respectively.
He also added his secret to staying motivated towards physical fitness are two simple things; one is, of course, maintaining a balanced diet. He recommends not skipping breakfast, and the second is his “ABC juice” booster. That’s the combination of Apple, Beet, and Carrot juice. Quite insightful. He says you should treat yourself like a Mercedes Benz. “Nourish yourself inside and out.”
Our approach supports people's overall well-being by assisting them in maintaining and optimising their health and cognition. We know that our teams' well-being can be improved by allowing them to eliminate distractions, reducing anxiety, fostering interactions with people, creating presence and trust, and aiding them to learn faster through technology assets.
We have come to a position where people blindly run after productivity without thinking about their well-being. As a company, if we do not remind them to stay fit and steady, it is not only them who will be affected but us as well. There’s no credit to being mindlessly glued to the computer screen, like a moth is drawn towards the flame. Sure, technology has helped in many ways. But they forget to remind themselves that all of these were invented to make our lives easier and not tough.
“People are addicted to the instant gratification that they get from social media,” as Mr. Yashaswin says; they do not even realize how wonderful it feels to stay fit. Every time they go to bed, they think of the constant neck and shoulder pains that occur by not taking care of their physiological health.
Many office chairs will say, ‘this will give you relief from your back pain’ and other intriguing sweet sentences, and hence some even get into the advertisement net. But does it help? To some extent, it might, but it cannot give the office employees a healthy life. Hence, as a team of Radixians, we have decided to encourage fitness however possible, whether by gearing up our badminton rackets or batting at supersonic speed.
“The activities that the company is organizing, whether spontaneously or annually, are helping us to form one big family,” Mr. Yashaswin says quite delightedly. He also mentions, “Sports activities like cricket, badminton, volleyball are already being practiced in the company, where more than 300 employees participate. Chess, table tennis, and football are also being played during the break hours to reinvigorate an employee’s mind.” And let’s not forget about the Radix Premier League 2021, our annual cricket tournament to celebrate cricket and our culture. Let’s just take a minute to applaud both the men and women team for their wonderful performance.
A company can encourage staying fit in a lot of ways, but to keep our Radixians motivated, we try to give them an element of excitement and fun. We recently started a #FitnFineRadixians challenge campaign to let all our employees (including people working from home) participate in physical activities.

When we talk about staying fit, what comes to your mind? A person is running, hitting the gym, or doing yoga. Isn’t it? Sure, they count, but staying fit can come in a lot of variety. And believe it or not, that’s the cure to all your health issues.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, WELL-BEING was gaining traction on our corporate agenda.
As the pandemic progressed, organisational leaders' concerns about employee well-being remained crucial. The impact of social isolation and the economic downturn on the teams' mental and emotional health became remained a key focus.
We have built an approach where individual, team, and organisational activities, policies, and mandates are considered to effectively integrate physical and mental well-being into the workplace.
We have encouraged our people to take the lead in establishing their own limits and making their demands for well-being known. Here is how we go about it.
