Our mandate involved creating an end-to-end solution, from automating HR workflows to implementing algorithms for talent scouting and employee performance analytics.
Starting in 2020, the client is a pioneering technology startup based in Germany that specializes in digital payment services. With a growing workforce of 150+ professionals, their innovative approach to security and data protection helped them clinch the prestigious Berlin Newcomer Startup Award.
The client’s team was basically juggling data between a number of distributed systems. They were using off-the-shelf products for certain tasks and outsourced the rest. This approach definitely went over their budget and made the whole process extremely complicated.
As the workforce started to grow, managing the increasing volume of data related to employees, payroll management, and performance tracking became a next-to-impossible task. Hence, they wanted to build a centralized platform that could integrate those workflows so that their HR team could handle all the processes from a single platform.
However, the option to hire a European development firm was unfairly offset due to cost implications. Primarily for that reason, the client reached out to Radixweb for a cost-effective solution while making the most of our technical expertise.
We saw the struggle with their subsystems, and we were like, “Time for a serious rehaul!” Developing a fresh platform from scratch was like enabling the ultimate power-up.
We had our fair share of experience delivering HR management software solutions for several industry verticals. In this project, our aim was to integrate talent management capabilities as well to build a comprehensive platform. No biggie!
Automated onboarding workflows, document verification, and role-specific training for a quick and efficient post-hiring process.
Rational database management systems (RDBMS) for a centralized database architecture and secure storage of end-to-end candidate profiles.
Integrated the in-house biometric authentication with a cloud-based system to track and manage precise attendance for every employee.
360-degree feedback mechanisms with KPIs and goal tracking for comprehensive performance evaluations and data-backed appraisals.
Predictive modeling and machine learning algorithms to derive and analyze actionable insights from vast HR datasets.
Adaptive learning modules, personalized content delivery, and performance analytics for continuous learning and skill development.
Automated payroll processing including error-free salary disbursal, pay slips, reimbursement claims, gratuity, and settlement.
Talent pipelines, competency profiling, and performance analysis to identify high-potential employees for critical roles.
Considering the present and future goals of the tech startup, our team needed to make sure that we used the best technologies available for the HR and recruitment management software.
For the backend, our tech stack featured Node.js for its scalability and event-driven architecture. Express.js for its RESTful APIs, and of course, MongoDB to accommodate the dynamic data structures in HR and talent management. The combination of these technologies formed a reliable and scalable foundation for the backend infrastructure.
We went for Vue.js development to create a responsive and dynamic user interface. Specifically, Vuex helped us with state management communication between different components. As part of the build process, we utilized Vite, a modern build tool, to speed up the development process and deliver optimized frontend assets.
For database management, we worked with PostgreSQL to create an efficient database management system for storing and retrieving HR data. This choice came from the need for a structured and foolproof database. Additionally, we utilized Redis as an in-memory data store to optimize the system performance.
Azure DevOps provided the DevOps capabilities for our project. Using Azure Pipelines for CI/CD, we automated the build and deployment process with consistent and reliable releases. Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) orchestrated container deployment and resource optimization within the Azure cloud environment.
Reduced Administrative Overhead
Increase in Employee Engagement
Cut in Operational Costs
After only a few weeks of using the software, the team could clearly notice a difference in their HR and talent management process. The ability to manage each process and gain visibility into it made a huge impact on their bottom line.
By seamlessly consolidating diverse operations, we created a centralized hub that resulted in a 63% reduction in administrative overhead through a unified experience for end-to-end processes.
Since the client does not have to pay for third-party services, operational costs saw a significant 30% decrease. This not only includes licensing expenses but also customization needs.
The learning and development module witnessed a remarkable impact, with a 40% increase in employee engagement and a 20% improvement in skill acquisition and knowledge retention.
The analytics-driven insights enabled strategic workforce planning. With predictive analytics, the company can now identify high-potential individuals and address impending skill gaps.
Whereas the company saw a turnover rate of 17% in the previous year, the HR and talent management system changed it. They’re able to see potential attrition risks and take proactive measures to retain talent.
In short, we desperately needed a platform that’s easy to use, transparent, and does the job well. Thankfully, we decided to work with Radixweb. Our team is comfortable using the system and has now great control over the management process.
