Summary: 2022 has been filled with satisfying wins but 2023 for Radixweb is directed towards more radical processes and business models. Our COO Dharmesh Acharya pens down his two cents about the winds of change across the organization.
We are officially at the last wheel of 2022 and just in about a couple of weeks, we’ll be entering another year full of possibilities. Talking about the year we are in, it has been full of amazing recognitions, awards and accolades for our momentous advances in the field of IT strategy consulting, software development and innovation.
Apart from expanding our business both horizontally and vertically, we have established indelible footprints in the global IT ecosystem with our systematic processes, organizational goal-aligned tech solutions and a battle-tested band of tech experts. Driving our clients from milestones to milestones with ingenious integration of smart advisory and excellent use of emerging technology, we have taken businesses to the peak of their organizational growth, delivering business agility and 360° values from all their tech investments.
That we have been successful in transforming processes across the world, has been widely acknowledged by global platforms like Titan Business Excellence Awards which accredited us as the Most Innovative IT Company of the Year 2022, for developing RxWeb - a clean-code, open-source architecture for streamlining web development. Whereas, the Globee Business Awards felicitated our superior advisory services amidst market disruption by naming us as the Best IT Consultation Company of the Year, Gold Award.
Not only that, as a senior C-suite member of Radixweb, a platform of the stature of Forbes, opened the door of its Senior Tech Council Membership for me, where I have been regularly contributing my views, opinions and learnings for some time now!
While all these have been our visible achievements, we have silently moved towards strengthening our core – building a supreme line of tech experts who stand undeterred in the face of every adversity! With our frontline of 670+ tech brains, we are on a surge to further our tech conquest towards building a more equitable environment for all global players in the tech market.
If you ask me about my vision for 2023, I’d say I am aiming to bank on the Steak, not the Sizzle.
With technology moving into the heart of organizational products, services and growth strategies, I feel there is a palpable need for us CIOs to nourish the business partnership skills of our teams. See, technologists are often considered the most introverts of all professions – and for a reason! While they spend years mastering extremely complex tech skills, it is important to pivot them towards an understanding of the market, the supply chain, finance and commercial operations. However, this movement is stunted for most tech organizations because our technologists are often caught up in the loop of coding and resolving bugs.
In my strong belief, to put forward this integration towards IT and business team integration, a capabilities management model is slowly becoming the gold standard of IT business – and that is where I am directing my team!
I have often witnessed a pattern for most IT businesses, where they blindly go by what their clients want them to build, skipping the part where they actually invest time and effort to learn about the niche they are dealing with.
In this regard, it is of prime importance that we clearly define our and our client’s target capabilities – identify areas where we and them actually need to invest more time and money. To be honest with you, I have a development map in my mind, but that’s continuously evolving. It’s almost a never-ending process, thus, capabilities management is something we need to cultivate as an ongoing process, both for internal and external stakeholders.
Talking about how this would benefit our diverse band of clients, when we have a capability map chalked out, the plan is to align it with the investment strategies. As members of the IT function, we need to understand why are investing in a particular capability to clearly map out the overall business strategy. Afterall, the IT function isn’t a band of order takers, we have a more important role, that of investors!
This realization came upon me when I asked myself as a COO, when delivering a new website to a client, does my responsibility end at that? I found myself answering that as a true software development partner, I had the silent responsibility of delivering customer responses through the IT solution and invariably had a hand in the sales objectives.
As the COO of a fast-moving business, my aim is to build a tech-forward business and for that to happen, traditional delivery models have to fall off! Thus, for 2023, our core goal is to shift from delivering IT to delivering capabilities. As the COO of one of the most trusted software partners around the globe, my focus for the upcoming year is to build a business model that aligns technology and the long-term goals of our clients into a single string.
In my 25 years of experience in leading diverse teams from a dynamic startup to a corporate, I have experienced that tech teams formulate better solutions and robust builds only when they have a true understanding of their client’s digital journeys and their actual needs. Not only are these solutions closer to the needs, but also yield higher investment returns at lower costs. Mostly because, these human centered designs reach the mark with the first delivery itself.
As a part of the process, we at Radixweb, have placed human centered designs at the center of our digital transformational agenda and our global data strategy for our clients. We have realigned our teams (both newbies and upskilled employees) in a way that they prioritize the need of the end user, translating ideas into reality with modern agile principles.
We have made a conscious shift from traditional IT thinking – from debates about tech-centric/machine-driven to customer digital journeys. And putting humans at the heart of innovation and ideation is already generating magnificent results for our digital solutions – we have experienced 97% of clients returning to us with their software development needs.
Changing the core of our design thinking, we have embedded human-centered designs and fostered conditions where these deigns can thrive. For 2023, it is our sole approach to innovation.
We at Radixweb have realized that the true essence of our tech knowledge is in immersing ourselves in our user’s needs, finding out what they actually want, figuring out what truly works for their business and implanting our knowledge in meeting their needs through superior tech products and services.
Afterall, the human element of business does not happen by chance, but by intention and determination!
