Tell us about your line of business.
We are a BEE compliant, locally developed software company based in South Africa. We have more than 40 years of experience in the field of data transfer and specialize in MFT (Managed File Transfers).
What technological concern drove you to Radixweb, and how did they respond to your crisis?
We had no technical challenge as such, but our prime developer quit on us midway during a project, for which we had already spent a lot of resources. Training another developer meant more risk for us – not only were we at risk of losing more relevant time, but we could also go with the wrong hiring and jeopardize the project altogether.
This made us look for an able software partner who had experienced domain knowledge and would work rescue our stalled work at reasonable rates. Our concern was that most software service providers ask for hefty charges when working on projects that have been left midway.
Tell us how you began your journey with Radixweb.
As I said, I was looking out for cheaper alternatives, and India is known for providing software development at competent rates. Among the host of other companies that I approached online, Radixweb got back to me first. We set up a query, explained our requirements, and liked the price point they quoted. Soon we had them onboard.
How do you think your engagement with Radixweb impacted your business?
See, ours wasn’t a regular project! Since our software was left in the midst of development, we were required to go through some planning and specification gathering procedures with them. Also, a number of bugs were to be fixed, which Radixweb did; they also provided enhancements to our platform. They helped complete our project with ASP.NET Zero development using the C# language, which involved working with a lot of databases and SQL queries.
Post-development, we signed another 40 hours of retainer work with them in case we came across some problems.
Radixweb assigned us only one developer – he was a one-man army! Being an experienced professional, he was able to create his own specifications, and we didn’t need to handhold him much about the platform. They have really talented people on board!
How does Radixweb score in terms of Project Management?
Project Management failure is one of the major drawbacks for offshore development projects. However, this is one issue we never had with Radixweb.
Apart from being really good with domain knowledge and development, they have the ability to analyze problems and come back with different solutions. Our mode of communication was mostly Skype and Email. The developer was very easy to work with since he was always available on Skype, which meant I could approach him with my concerns whenever need be.
What is the most impressive thing about Radixweb?
You would never have to second guess when it comes to working with Radixweb. First, their skill level is really good. Second, they keep their clients constantly updated – I was always informed about what they were busy with, the problems they were facing, or the stage of progress.

There’s nothing I can think of that they could do better. Most of the problems were to do with our lack of specifications, but they helped us get everything done. In fact, the way they sped up the development work, in spite of it being half done, made us count our returns soon. Had I been doing that myself, it would have taken me at least a year more.
These are very responsible people – you can trust them with your work, and rest assured they will deliver your digital product with care. You really don’t need to worry about spending money and not getting anything in return.
