Leveraged Technological Advancements for Our Business with Expert Dev Team

Our engagement with the software development team from Radixweb helped us complete a number of web development projects

Bradley Garcia

Hi, this is Johanna, Technical Director of a Germany-based marketing agency. We hired the development team of Radixweb that provided a range of web-related services on a per-project basis. They comprehensively worked on a Bluetooth device app, security upgrades on a training platform, and migrated that platform to a new server.

Highlights

“Radixweb has been very responsive whenever I sent them a message, and the overall communication was very good.”

“I want to emphasize that Radixweb has been very thorough with my requirements.”

An Intellectual Engagement

We are a Frankfurt-based digital agency that specializes in online advertising and marketing services. The company did not have the required resources and in-house expertise for a set of web-based projects, and hence, Johanna, their Technical Director, was looking for a dedicated development team. The primary goal was to outsource their projects so that they could perfectly address the needs of their own clients.

Radixweb worked as an extension of their in-house team and independently worked on a series of high-end projects throughout the course of the engagement. Where most of the outsourcing firms would have costed them a fortune, our developers came up with the most cost-effective solution for each project, completing the entire work within the desired time and budget.

Here's a brief of the conversation:

Please tell us about your business and your role there.

We are a digital agency based in Frankfurt, focusing on online business advertising and marketing. We handle everything web-related, from small websites to bigger ones and web-based applications that serve as online databases for customers. I am the technical director of the company.

How did you come to work with Radixweb?

Well, they responded quickly when we had a need for developers for our very first project - a Bluetooth app. We looked through our inboxes for emails from development companies and wrote to Radixweb. They also had very smart questions during the initial conversation, confirming that they were actually thinking about the project.

More importantly, Radixweb's pricing was very competitive. We considered two other companies, one from Ukraine and another from Kosovo, but they were charging us a lot. We also looked at using our own development team, but we are not experienced with this type of application. So, in terms of the quality of cost of service, Radixweb was a perfect match for us.

What tech challenges were to trying overcome with Radixweb?

Our first project with Radixweb started in 2016. We were making security updates on an online training platform for a consumer-goods client. They took the entire codebase of the legacy system and fixed all the issues with it. The following project was for migrating that platform to a new server infrastructure with a set of modern functionalities.

To be honest, our requirements have differed from one project to another. Accordingly, Radixweb gave us recommendations on how to set up the teams in terms of developer types and how many project management resources we needed. We followed those recommendations and did not fail once. Our latest project with them was for building an application that forwarded Bluetooth data to an online database. And it was built using three people at peak capacity.

Would you say your partnership with Radixweb had a positive impact on your business?

They worked on a number of projects for us, and we got the results we wanted in each of them. Let me give you an example of the Bluetooth application project. The app was made for a Bluetooth device manufacturer, and they would only be using it internally for testing certain data needs related to the cloud-based server.

So, what the Radix team did was create an APK file that allowed the client to install the app on their device, and it's not publicly available. The customer is happy with the product, and they even want to further improve it by adding more features.

All in all, they helped us expand our business reach and address the increasing demands of our customers. From assessing the unique requirements of each project to choosing cutting-edge tech stack, they have been outstandingly helpful in everything.

Radixweb engaged intellectually with the project, especially when it meant challenging assumptions. Updates are regular, deadlines are rarely missed, and budgets are always respected.

In terms of project management, how did the Radixweb team perform?

Well, the entire work was done within our agreed-upon time and budget. I couldn't speak about what happened behind the curtains on Radixweb's side, but I have been happy with their performance. I chatted with their project manager via Google Hangouts daily or even more often and was given updates whenever a new feature was completed. I could install the latest version and check it on my own device, which was good. Radixweb has been very responsive whenever I sent them a message, and the overall communication was very good.

What did you like the most about them?

I want to emphasize that Radixweb has been very thorough with my requirements. They studied our specs carefully, pointed out any mistakes, and asked the right questions. This rarely happens since most outsourcing companies simply promise that they can deliver a project without asking any questions.

Is there any scope for improvement?

Not really, but at the beginning, we had many different contact people for Radixweb, which made it complicated at times to distinguish between their business development manager, the account person, the project manager, and so on.

However, as soon as the project started, I was assigned a single contact person, which worked very well, but before that, I had email exchanges with many different people. But that's totally fine, as we needed a team of different skill sets to set the building blocks right at the start.

Final Thought of the Firm

When it came to handling changing project requirements, Radixweb never disappointed us. The team showed proficiency across a variety of technologies. When changes were required, they were quick to make the necessary corrections and eagerly positioned themselves to improve the team's dynamics. They are innovative with an Agile mindset, giving their best in crafting the finest solution for you.

Johanna gives Radixweb an overall 5-star rating for being a true software partner as well as for providing exceptional project management and cutting-edge software solutions. Our development team's impressive responsiveness and practical crisis management strategy have built a bond that extends beyond the professional business interests of both parties.
