What is your line of business?
I own two marketing businesses. When we started off with Radixweb, the initial project was for a marketing consultancy. My present company is more into strategic planning and market analysis. With about 10-20 employees, we have an annual turnover of $2-10 million.
What technology concern had you seeking a software partner?
Our marketing consultancy was a different ball game. We had very specific web development needs. Promoting a business was also on the cards.
What plans did Radixweb execute to benefit your business?
We worked with Radixweb on a total of five projects. The initial project was a bit complex since it was in 2010; video streaming and uploading high-rez images wasn’t very functional. Radixweb was required to build a real estate site – a one-stop solution for people selling properties. We needed to build an interface where users can enter relevant information in forms, like their address and details of their property. These bits of information had to be fed into templates to create house signs.
Radixweb developed a full e-commerce website for creating signs from scratch. They built a whole solution. The website had a CMS where users could change content and create new templates. Since then, I have partnered with Radixweb for other projects.
They handle projects from initiation to testing and improvements. They developed a health and safety site on which they implemented a Microsoft platform to allow users to edit documents on the site. Most recently, they developed my website and on a very short time.

Tell us how you came across Radixweb.
We were at this trade show in Sydney, where we met a couple of the team members. We met their CEO and their sales lead. That meeting resulted in a conversation where we matched our requirements and their capabilities. That’s how we started working.
How would you say this association with Radixweb impacted your business?
We completed five important projects with them back to back; I think that says a lot about the professional relationship we have. Our first project with them started in August 2010, and it continued for around three months. After that, they offered us ongoing support. The second project was in 2011 for a health and safety site. They started developing my own website in September or October 2019 and completed it in about three weeks.

Most firms fear offshore development because of flawed project management. Did you have any such trouble with Radixweb?
On the contrary, this is one team that’s brilliant with project management. I’ve had four different project managers from them across five projects. They communicate brilliantly. We normally work through Skype, email, and phone. I would particularly mention my first project manager; he was brilliant and envisioned all the solutions to make my project a reality.
Even their project lead communicated with me from time to time and went back to the project team to do the development. I had to deal with one person at a time, and they have other people to assist from behind the scenes.** I prefer not to have too many stakeholders involved, but I’ve had conference calls with 2–3 other team members about technical issues and things I wasn’t sure of, and my queries were resolved with ease.**

This is one very innovative team in terms of design, backend implementation, and user ex – that’s what sets them apart. They are really good with product presentation and have always come back with functionalities that are better than what I had asked for. Apart from being brilliant in terms of communication, they have a brilliant grasp of their domain knowledge. They have a team of good engineers who know technology in and out.
My advice to anyone who wishes to work with them will be, make a reasonable brief. Be very clear about your project requirements and goals but don’t be fixated on the procedure. They have a tendency to devise brilliant solutions which may not be what you had expected.
